I lived in Iceland in the early 1980s during my junior year abroad. During the Christmas break I stayed with the family at Litla Sandvik, a farm in the south of Iceland near Selfoss. With the Eyjafjallajókull volcano causing flooding in the region, I’ve grown concerned about the family of Pal, Ella, Aldis, Sigga, Lyður, and Guðmundur.

I’m hoping that the power of the Internet, along with search engines and web crawlers, can bring this note to their attention, and pass along my well wishes.

I’ve always remembered their kindness to a lonely American student and hope all is well.
